While standing firmly on its own ground, this third annual Jamot Lecture also complements Dr. Randy Boyagoda's "Catholicism in the Public Faith: A Catholic's Duty (2019). This year, theologian and Newman scholar, Dr. Donald Graham draws upon the witness, wisdom, and writings of Newman (1801-1890) to reflect upon aspects of lay Catholic spirituality which animate a vibrant living out of the Catholic life: e.g. a revived baptismal awareness, the shape of holiness, the risk worth taking, conscience and its counterfeits, and the sanctified sympathy which flows from Christ.
